Health association members get 'Living Legend' awards

HOT SPRINGS -- Dr. William Greenfield, president of the Arkansas Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Association (AMDPA), hosted a reception for attendees of the AMDPA's 123rd annual Scientific Session on June 10 at The Warehouse.

The Wine and Chocolate Affair was not only a chance to network, but also a time to honor several members of the association with the inaugural Dr. Joycelyn Elders Living Legend Awards.

Honored for their leadership and dedicated service were Drs. Harold Betton, Lanita White, Corey Montgomery, Rosetta Calvin, Gloria Richard-Davis, Ronda Henry-Tillman and Dr. Joe Hargrove and members of the Flowers family from Pine Bluff.

The evening also included a buffet of finger foods, wines from Alexis George Winery and a chocolate fountain. Entertainment was by Rodney Block.

AMDPA is a statewide association for minority health care providers with the mission to be a resource toward ensuring professional excellence and promoting social justice and health equity in Arkansas.
