Following his team's win at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Arkansas coach Lance Harter has been named national coach of the year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Razorbacks won three events at the national meet and finished runner-up in three others. Arkansas scored 72 points, 10 points ahead of second-place Oregon.

The team title was the Razorbacks' first ever outdoors and second in program history. Arkansas won the national indoor meet in 2015.

It is the fifth time Harter has been named national coach of the year by USTFCCCA. He was also named SEC coach of the year for 27th time during the outdoor season.
