Fishing: Rods and reels will line the banks of the Arkansas River during the annual Big Bass Bonanza tournament, June 24-26. The contest covers 300 miles of the river with official check-in stations at Fort Smith, Dardanelle, Little Rock/North Little Rock, Pine Bluff and Dumas. Fishing starts at 6 a.m. each day and hourly weigh-ins from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Entry is $80 per day and winners will be announced at 4 p.m. June 26 at Riverfront RV Park, North Little Rock. Sinking: Heber Springs hosts the 30th annual World Championship Cardboard Boat Races, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 30 at Sandy Beach. This year's boat theme is Pixar. In addition to the wacky races, which start at 10 a.m., there will be a treasure dig, watermelon eating contest, duck races and volleyball tournament.
