Walton Arts Center gets $1 million grant, reaches 90 percent of goal

The Walton Arts Center reached over 90 percent of its fundraising goal with a $1 million grant Tuesday, officials said.

The Donald W. Reynolds Foundation awarded $1 million toward the center’s $23 million renovation project, bringing the total raised to $21.2 million, said Erin Rogers, public relations director for the Walton Arts Center.

The grant will aid in the ongoing renovations to add nearly 30,000 square feet.

The grant will also go towards new programming initiatives, such as a new series called West Street Live presented by Neal Pendergraft, according to a press release. The grant was made in honor of long-time Fayetteville resident Neal Pendergraft in honor of his years as a trustee of the foundation.
