Shiloh Christian rising senior running back John-Marcus Carruthers is transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Carruthers announced via Twitter his intention to play his senior season at the Florida academy that has produced a number of college and professional players, including Arkansas Razorbacks Hjalte Frodholt and walk-on defensive back Reid Miller. IMG's roster boasts some of the highest ranked recruits in the 2017 class.

"Thank you Shiloh Christian School. I love you all," Carruthers' tweet read. "With that being said, after a tremendous time of prayer and opportunity, I have decided to finish my senior year at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., for the 2016-17 season under coach (Kevin) Wright and the Ascenders.

"It's a new mission field and another way to make an impact on lives while playing the sport that I love."

Carruthers (5-foot-9, 180 pounds) rushed for 577 yards on 91 carries last season and scored seven rushing touchdowns. He also caught 9 passes for 134 yards and 1 touchdown and had 867 total yards. Carruthers rushed for more than 600 yards as a sophomore.

"To my teammates, all I have to say is take state," Carruthers tweeted. "You are fully equipped and up for the challenge. The bond we have is still forever and for that I am grateful.

"For the past 13 years of my life I have been sold out and have bled navy blue and gold. Since I was a little kindergartner I dreamed of the day I would suit up and put on that gold helmet. I want to thank each and every person who has supported me throughout the years at Shiloh Christian. From Coach Jeff Conaway and the coaching staff to my influential teachers and administration, thank you for not only developing me athletically, but engaging me spiritually."

Conaway said Carruthers will be missed as much for his off-the-field personality as his play on the field.

"He's just a good person and a good person to be around," Conaway said. "We wish him well; we wish him the best."
