FAYETTEVILLE — Guard Kelsey Brooks and forward Khadijah West won't play for Arkansas in the 2016-17 season, Coach Jimmy Dykes said Wednesday.

Both would have been seniors.

Dykes said Brooks is graduating this summer and wants to pursue job opportunities. He said she's currently working as an intern for a sports agency in California.

West underwent career-ending knee surgery, Dykes said, and is on schedule to graduate in December.

Brooks played in 28 games last season, including 17 starts, and averaged 6.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 23.7 minutes.

West played 28 games off the bench and averaged 1.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 9.2 minutes.

Dykes said West could have undergone surgery a year ago.

"We felt fortunate to get one more year out of her," Dykes said. "She needed total reconstruction on her knee just to allow her, when she's 30 years old, to not need to have a knee replacement surgery."
