Police arrest boy they say shot another teen

FAYETTEVILLE -- Police arrested a 17-year-old boy Friday they believe shot an 18-year-old man at a Fayetteville apartment complex Monday night, said Sgt. Craig Stout, police spokesman.

Police aren't releasing the boy's name because he's younger than 18. He was arrested in connection with suspicion of first-degree battery and possession of a handgun by a minor, a misdemeanor, Stout said.

Eduardo Cedillo was shot in the stomach about 11:15 p.m. Monday at 2862 N. Gregg Ave., Apt. 4, according to a police dispatch report.

Stout said previously he didn't know how seriously Cedillo was injured. The bullet went through his abdomen and left a small hole, according to a dispatch report.
