Fayetteville's First State Bank robbed; suspect in custody

FAYETTEVILLE — A man dressed as a construction worker who robbed a Fayetteville bank with a note Thursday afternoon, and a suspect in the robbery was taken into custody, said Sgt. Craig Stout, police spokesman.

Police have not released the suspect's name.

A man who appeared to be in his 30s walked into the First State Bank at 2125 E. Joyce Blvd. around 4:28 p.m. and passed a teller a note demanding money, Stout said.

Stout said he did not think any weapons were displayed during the robbery. No one was injured.

The man left the bank with "some money," Stout said. The amount has not been disclosed.
