Police looking for shooter who wounded Fayetteville man

FAYETTEVILLE — Police are looking for a person they believe shot an 18-year-old man late Monday night, said Sgt. Craig Stout, police spokesman.

Eduardo Cedillo was shot in the stomach and taken to a local hospital around 11:15 p.m. Monday, according to a police dispatch report.

Stout did not release the name of the person who police believe shot Cedillo.

Neighbors called police Monday after hearing a gunshot at at 2862 N. Gregg Ave., Apt. 4, the report shows. Witnesses said the shooter had left the apartment complex before police arrived, according to the report.

Police found a spent shell casing at the scene, but the gun has not yet been recovered, Stout said.

Stout said he didn’t know how serious Cedillo's gunshot was. The bullet went completely through Cedillo, leaving a small hole, the report shows. Stout said Cedillo was taken to a local hospital.

Cedillo was not listed at Washington Regional Medical Center or Northwest Medical Center at Springdale on Tuesday afternoon.

The case remains under investigation, Stout said.
