Ashley Elizabeth Swindell and Lynn Hollis Nix were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the Bahama Beach Club in Treasure Cay, Abaco, Bahamas. The Rev. De Angelo Bowe from St. Simon by the Sea officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Becki and Chris Swindell of Little Rock. Her grandparents are Leta and Claude Swindell of Hurst, Texas, Pat Ryan of Little Rock and Freddie Workman of Star City.
The bridegroom is the son of Dr. Stacy Jones and David Nix of Little Rock. He is the grandson of Rhoda and Dr. Edgar Jones III of Austin, Texas, Juanita Nix of Willis, Texas, and the late Lynn Hollis Nix of Jonesboro.
Vows were exchanged on the beach under a wooden arch draped with chiffon. Music was by violinist Jennifer Hudson.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore an ivory chiffon A-line gown with a beaded neckline. She carried a bouquet of white peonies, white anemones, pink astilbe, peach roses and dusty miller.
Paige Farnam of Bryant was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Megan McCarthy and Abby Sadler of Fayetteville, Morgan Dours of Los Angeles, Alex Bluemmel of Bryant and Chelsea Mercer of Denver. They wore floor-length dresses in the style of their choice in gray, tan, pink or blue and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas.
Flower girls and ring bearer were Abby Swindell of Keller, Texas, and Emmy Jones and Cason Jones of Bourne, Texas, cousins of the bridegroom.
Edgar Davis Nix of San Luis Obispo, Calif., was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Michael Atkinson and Dalton Swindell, brother of the bride, both of Fayetteville; Haydon Reese of San Marcos, Texas; Walker Moore of Rogers; and Robbie Coffeen of San Francisco. Guests were seated by Keaton Swindell and Tanner Swindell of Keller, nephews of the bride, and Hunter Jones and Luke Yium of Austin, cousins of the bridegroom.
A reception was held Saturday at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Tables were decorated with tall cylinders of tropical foliage and white orchids and small arrangements of lily grass, monstera leaves and orchids. Music was by Canvas.
The bride graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor's degree in English. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta and on the dean's and chancellor's lists. She is student at the University of Tulsa pursing a juris doctorate and master's degree in English.
The bridegroom is a UA graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He was a member of Kappa Sigma. He also attends the University of Tulsa and is a second-year law student.
The couple will live in Tulsa after a honeymoon in the Bahamas.
