The Arkansas State Police has identified Ricky L. Partin as the body of a man found in June in southeast Johnson County near the Pope County line.
A statement Thursday saidthe death of Partin, 34, is being investigated as a homicide by the state police and Johnson County Sheriff's office. The investigation is ongoing.
Partin's identity could not be confirmed when the body was discovered June 22. It was sent to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for identification and to determine the cause and manner of death, a news release in June said.
