Arkansas and Texas haven’t faced each other since January 2011, a 79-46 Longhorns win in John Pelphrey’s final season at Arkansas. Arkansas leads the all-time series 85-67, but its former Southwest Conference nemesis has won three of the last four meetings.
Texas isn’t the only Big 12 school the Razorbacks will play next season. Arkansas will travel to Oklahoma State on Jan. 28 as part of the SEC/Big 12 Showdown. The schools haven’t met since 2003, but the Cowboys have won nine of the last 10 meetings and are 12-1 against Arkansas inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Texas reportedly also isn’t the only school from the Lone Star State on the Hogs’ schedule. Arkansas will host Houston on Dec. 6 to kick off a home-and-home series, per CBS Sports. The Cougars beat Arkansas 87-78 in Little Rock in 2011 in the programs’ last meeting, but the Razorbacks lead the all-time series 21-17.
CBS Sports also reported Arkansas will travel to Minnesota this season for the first game of a home-and-home series with the Golden Gophers. Arkansas has not released its full nonconference schedule.
