BEAVER LAKE

Black bass are on the prowl at night.

Aaron Jolliff at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said black plastic worms and black spinner baits are working for bass after dark. Between sunset and dark, try deep-diving crank baits. Bass are also biting top-water lures at dawn.

Striped bass are biting at dawn from Point 5 to the dam. Use top-water lures for surfacing stripers. Try brood minnows or shad for deeper fish.

Catfish are biting cut bait for rod and reel fishermen.

Garland Villines at Hickory Creek Marina said trolling is a good way to catch catfish on the south end of the lake. Use crank baits that dive 13 to 20 feet. Troll over flats.

BEAVER TAILWATER

Lisa Mullins at the Beaver Dam Store said trout are biting Power Bait combined with a waxworm. Best Power Bait colors are white or orange.

Trolling with Flicker Shads or Shad Raps is a good way to catch trout, white bass or walleye. The best flies are midges or pheasant-tails in size 18.

LAKE FAYETTEVILLE

Angela Perea at the lake office said bluegill fishing is good with crickets or worms. Catfish are biting well on minnows or stink bait. Try minnows or plastic worms for black bass.

LAKE SEQUOYAH

Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said crappie are biting fair eight to 10 feet deep on minnows or jigs. A fisherman caught 14 big crappie last week.

Black bass are biting top-water lures at dawn and dusk. Catfish are biting liver or shad. All types of bait are working for bluegill.

SWEPCO LAKE

Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said soft plastics fished two to 20 feet deep should work for black bass. Try top-water lures at dawn and dusk.

ILLINOIS RIVER

Stroud said black bass fishing is good with buzz baits or plastic lizards.

BELLA VISTA

John Curtis at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said Loch Lomond and Lake Windsor are the best lakes for black bass and bluegill. Try deep-diving crank baits or big plastic worms for black bass. Use worms for bluegill.

EASTERN OKLAHOMA

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair crappie fishing at Grand Lake with minnows 10 to 20 feet deep around docks and brush. Catfish are biting shad or stink bait.

TABLE ROCK LAKE

The Missouri Department of Conservation reports good bluegill fishing with worms and Beetle Spins around docks and rocky banks. Try jigging spoons, plastic lizards or crank baits 15 feet deep for black bass.
