A Rogers man died Monday after diving into Beaver Lake to untangle anchor lines, according to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.

Hayden Greenway, 21, was in a boat with friends between Starkey Marina and the Beaver Lake dam, said Lt. Jerry Reddick with the sheriff's office.

The boat's anchor line became entangled with the one from another boat. Two men dove into the water to untangle the lines, but only one of them resurfaced, Reddick said.

Greenway's body was recovered about four hours later in 40 feet of water, Reddick said.

The University of Arkansas student directory lists Greenway as a sophomore studying biology. Steve Voorhies, a spokesman for the university, confirmed that Greenway was a student.

Greenway was a 2013 graduate of Rogers Heritage High School, said Ashley Siwiec, a spokeswoman for the Rogers School District.

Greenway's body has been sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner's office for autopsy.
