Ivan Martinez, 18, and Luis Martinez, 22, both of 1305 Crutcher St. in Springdale, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and theft of property, both felonies.

The pair also faces misdemeanor charges of second-degree false imprisonment.

The man told police he was walking about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from Lake Fayetteville, where he parked his car, to Veterans Park, the report said. As the man neared the dam, he passed two Hispanic males, who began following him through the park, the report said.

After a few minutes, Ivan Martinez ran up and wrapped his arms around the man, the report said. Luis Martinez then came up to the man, asked him if he spoke Spanish and took the man's wallet and cell phone from his pockets. The man then was thrown onto the trail as the two men ran away, the report said.

Police later found Luis Martinez and Ivan Martinez near the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks sweating and shaking, the report said. Police found $162 in loose money from Luis Martinez's pockets and an empty wallet, the report said. The man's cell phone and wallet wasn't found.

Luis Martinez and Ivan Martinez were released Thursday from the Washington County Detention Center after posting partial bonds of $3,500.
