Arkansas jobless below 4% in 4 metro areas

Four Arkansas metropolitan areas had unemployment rates below 4 percent in May, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Arkansas' unemployment rate in May was 3.8 percent, and the national rate was 4.7 percent.

Northwest Arkansas had the lowest unemployment rate at 2.8 percent, down from 4.1 percent in May last year. Jonesboro's rate was 3.2 percent, down from 4.9 in May last year.

The Little Rock area unemployment rate was 3.4 percent, down from 4.9 in May last year. And Texarkana's unemployment rate was 3.9 percent in May, down from 4.9 percent a year earlier.

The May unemployment rate in Hot Springs was 4.1 percent.
