Arkansas Index advances 6.51 as stocks rally again

The Arkansas Index, a price-weighted index that tracks the largest public companies based in the state, gained 6.51 to 326.62 Thursday.

"U.S. stocks rallied for the third-straight day after Bank of England Gov. Mark Carney raised the prospect of an interest rate cut following Britain's vote to leave the European Union," said John Blackwell, senior vice president and managing director of equity trading at Stephens Inc. in Little Rock.

The index was developed by Bloomberg News and the Democrat-Gazette with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 30, 1997.
