SPRINGDALE -- Blaire Taylor had no idea just how good her night was on the basketball court Tuesday. But the Shiloh Christian senior guard made sure Pea Ridge felt the effects of her dazzling performance.
"I came out of the locker room just now and our coach was like, how many points did you think you had," Taylor said. "I said like 20 maybe, that's the most I had ever gotten. And then he showed me that I got 40 points and I was like, oh my gosh, it was the greatest feeling.

"But I wasn't even concentrating on the points. I just wanted to win."
For much of the night, winning looked much in doubt for the Lady Saints. But a furious fourth-quarter rally changed all that. Shiloh Christian scored 23 of the final 29 points in the contest and erased a deficit that was 3 1/2 quarters long, riding the hot hand of Taylor to a 67-56 victory agains the Lady Blackhawks in 4A-1 Conference play on Tuesday.
Taylor scored 17 of her 40 points in the fourth quarter alone and finished the game 14 of 20 from the free throw line to go along with a pair of 3-pointers and 10 two-point field goals.
"I had no idea she scored that many until we got in the lockerroom," Shiloh Christian coach Mat Stewart said. "She's ultra aggressive, sometimes to the point where I have to tell her to calm down a little bit. But when no one else is doing it, she's one of our senior leaders and she's worked hard and deserves it. And I'm very proud of her."
While Taylor knocked down her fair share of free throws, the Lady Saints (4-15, 2-5) as a whole struggled from the line, finishing 23 of 43. But Shiloh was able to overcome to poor free-throw shooting in the fourth quarter.
"They never gave up on themselves or their coach," Stewart said. "They kept battling and I knew the rebounds were going to come and the shots were going to come. The free throws didn't necessarily go down like we wanted them do, but the big difference was we started taking care of the ball better down the stretch.
Veronica Adams also finished with 19 points for Shiloh Christian and Catherine Hooten led Pea Ridge (8-12, 1-6) with 12 points.
