"She (James) has had a lot of big nights for us this year," said Gentry coach Toby Tevebaugh. "She quietly goes about her business. Some times you don't realize she has done a lot but you look up that she has 20 points and 15 rebounds."

Mallory Morris was also in double figures for Gentry (13-4, 5-2 4A-1) and nine different Lady Pioneers found the scoring column. Gentry was 25 of 34 from the free throw line and the Lady Pioneers made 12 in a row during one stretch late in the second period and early in the third period.

"Free throws has been a point of emphasis since Christmas," Tevebaugh said. "In our last three or four games, it has been much better."

Sydney Hicks led Gravette (10-9, 3-4) with 11 points while Tori Foster added 10.

"We didn't shoot it very well," said Gravette coach Will Pittman. "Gentry came up with a lot of loose balls and they rebounded. I thought that was the key."

Gravette cut the Gentry lead to 11-8 on a basket by Hicks early in the second period but the rest of the first half belonged to James and the Lady Pioneers.

James keyed a 12-5 Gentry run with 10 points as the Lady Pioneers took a 23-13 lead at halftime. James was 4 for 4 from the free throw line during the run and the senior also powered in for three layups for the 10-point lead.

Tevebaugh said the run before halftime was a key point in the game.

"Every team plays relaxed when they have the lead, and I think we relaxed little bit," Tevebaugh said. "Everything then seemed to come easier."

C.J Taylor led three Gentry players in double figures with 23 points as the Pioneers defeated the Lions. Cole Cripps added 12 for Gentry (12-5, 5-2) while Matt Juillerat finished with 10.

Gravette cut the lead to 47-46 with 1 minute, 40 seconds left but Gentry hit 5 of 7 free throws the rest of the way to hold off the Lions (8-10, 2-3).

Jackson Soule led Gravette with 21 points.
