Man convicted of killing 22-month-old found dead in cell, police say

The Arkansas Department of Correction and state police are investigating the death of an inmate that appears to be a suicide, according to a department news release.

Guards found Jesse Holloman, 31, in his cell at Ouachita River Unit at about 2 a.m. Friday, the release said.

Prison staff and paramedics performed CPR, but Holloman was pronounced dead at a hospital Friday evening.

Holloman was serving a 46-year sentence for a first-degree murder conviction in Independence County. In 2013, he pleaded guilty to killing his girlfriend's 22-month-old daughter and hiding her body in a refrigerator.
