Louisiana-Monroe (13-12, 9-5 Sun Belt) hit 14 three-pointers on its way to the overtime victory at Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, La.

ASU’s Devin Carter scored the first basket of regulation, but the Warhawks closed the game on an 11-4 run.

Both teams had shots to win in regulation with ASU’s Sean Gardner missing with four seconds left, before the Warhawks’ Nick Coppola came up short on a three-point attempt at the buzzer.

The game was tied 67-67 at the end of regulation.

Anthony Livingston led ASU (11-14, 7-7) with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Gardner added 17 points with Frederic Dure scoring 13 and Carter 12.

Majok Deng had 27 points to lead the Warhawks with Justin Roberson chipping in 21.

ASU shot 47.5 percent (29 of 61) from the field while holding the Warhawks to 39.4 percent (26 of 66). The War Hawks made 14-of-36 three-pointers (38.9 percent) while the Red Wolves were 7 of 19 (36.8 percent).

ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF 58

An early 7-2 lead went to waste for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (6-20, 4-8 Southwestern Athletic Conference) as the Golden Lions fell to Southern (17-8, 9-3) at the F.G. Clark Activity Center in Baton Rouge. UAPB trailed 32-24 at halftime and fell behind by as many as 19 (58-39) with 8:10 left in the second half. The Golden Lions whittled the deficit to 61-55 with 1:09 remaining after Charles Jackson’s layup, but the Jaguars hit 5-of-6 free throws the remainder of the way.

UAPB’s Ghiavonni Robinson led all scorers with 17 points, while teammate Marcus Wallace added 12.

Southern was led by Adrian Rodgers’ 12 points and Christopher Hyder’s 10.

The Golden Lions shot 42.6 percent from the field but were just 4 of 22 (18.2 percent) from three-point range.

SOUTHLAND WOMEN

CENTRAL ARKANSAS 76,

INCARNATE WORD 57

Each of Central Arkansas’ starters scored 10 or more points in the Southland Conference victory at the McDermott Center in San Antonio on Saturday.

UCA (20-3, 10-2) outscored Incarnate Word (6-17, 3-9) 34-21 in the second half to get back on the winning track after seeing its nine-game streak snapped Wednesday night against Northwestern (La.) State.

Maggie Proffitt led the Sugar Bears with 15 points, followed by Kendara Watts’ 14. Jameka Watkins and Taylor Baudoin each had 12, while Brianna Mullins added 10. Incarnate Word was led by Aricka Adams’ 15 points and Yvonne Maosa’s 14. The Sugar Bears shot 53.4 percent from the field and made 10 of 10 free throws. Led by Raquel Logan’s 9, the Sugar Bears held a 43-23 rebounding edge, including 30-13 on the defensive end.

SOUTHERN 74, UAPB 70

Arkansas-Pine Bluff (7-16, 4-8 Southwestern Athletic Conference) cut a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit to two points with 24 seconds left, but Brittney Washington put the game out of reach with two free throws to give Southern (12-9, 9-3) the victory at the F.G. Clark Activity Center in Baton Rouge.

UAPB trailed 36-33 at halftime and 57-47 after three quarters.

The Golden Lions had four players score 14 or more points, led by Ajia Richardson’s 16. Destiny Brewton and Diamond Richardson each scored 15, while Niya Richardson had 14.

Southern’s Briana Green led all scorers with 22 points. Washington added 18 for the Jaguars. Southern outscored UAPB 20-2 in bench points.
