GAC MEN

OUACHITA BAPTIST 79, HARDING 75

David Berete scored 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor as Ouachita Baptist (13-10, 13-4 Great American Conference) overcame a season-high 34 points from Jacob Gibson to defeat Harding (13-9, 12-5 GAC) at Vining Arena in Arkadelphia.

Justin McCleary had 15 points for OBU, while Jordan Corbitt scored 11 and Lakee Westbrook finished with 10. Regie Anthony had 11 points for Harding, while Will Francis and Braden Eggleston chipped in 10 each.

ARKANSAS TECH 78, SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 73

Tuler Corley scored 20 points for Arkansas Tech (13-10, 8-9 GAC), which outscored Southern Arkansas (12-11, 9-8 GAC) 49-38 in the second half in Magnolia.

Freddy Lee scored 17 points for Arkansas Tech, Nick Wayman had 14 and Bryson Fletcher added 10. CJ Elkins led SAU with 15 points, Deon Andrews had 14, Denarious Lockhard scored 13 and Tony Aska finished with 12.

HENDERSON STATE 60, ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO 54

Henderson State (6-16, 5-12 GAC) used a late second-half run and four Reddies scored 10 or more points in the victory over Arkansas-Monticello (7-16, 5-12 GAC) at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia.

The Reddies led 26-24 at halftime, holding the Muleriders to 1-of-12 shooting from behind the three-point line in the first half. UAM took a 46-39 lead midway through the second half, but Henderson State responded with a 12-0 run to take a 51-46 lead with 4:40 remaining.

Aaron Cooper's layup with 36 seconds left gave the Reddies a 56-55 lead. The Muleriders did not answer on their next possession and Cooper hit two free throws to extend the lead to 58-55 with 12 seconds remaining.

Richard Benedyth hit 1 of 2 free throws with seven seconds left to cut the lead to 58-56, but Cooper hit two more free throws to seal the victory.

Kevin Kozan led the Reddies with 14 points, Kaylon Tappin had 13 and Cooper finished with 11. Vicktor Arnick led the Muleriders with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

HEARTLAND MEN

ARKANSAS-FORT SMITH 106,

OKLA. PANHANDLE ST. 77

Alex Cooper scored 33 points on 10-of-14 shooting, including 7 of 11 three-pointers, to lead Arkansas-Fort Smith (18-6, 11-5 Heartland Conference) over Oklahoma Panhandle State (8-16, 1-15 Heartland) at Oscar Williams Fieldhouse in Goodwell, Okla.

Seth Youngblood scored 24 points for the Lions, while DaVaunta Thomas and Kenny Martin added 14 each.

GAC WOMEN

OUACHITA BAPTIST 87, HARDING 83

Ouachita Baptist (8-15, 5-12 GAC) made 10 three-pointers and shot 49.1 percent from the floor to snap a three-game winning streak for Harding (14-7, 12-5 GAC) at Bill Vining Arena in Arkadelphia.

Breanna Harris scored 41 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the floor, including six three-pointers, and 13-of-14 shooting from the free-throw line to lead OBU. Kori Bullard scored 13 of her 14 points in the first quarter to help OBU jump out to a 26-12 lead. Sydney Layrock scored 14 of her career-high 30 points in the second quarter as the Lady Bisons outscored the Lady Tigers 29-22 but trailed 48-41 at halftime.

Harris scored 13 points in the third quarter as the Lady Tigers took a 67-55 lead. The Lady Bisons cut the lead to 85-83 with four seconds left after Falan Miller hit a three-pointer, but Harris made two free throws to seal the victory for OBU.

Katie Kapler scored 22 points for OBU, while A'ndrea Haney finished with 21 points and Mackenzie McNamara added 10 off the bench for Harding.

ARKANSAS TECH 77, SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 68

Fatima Adams scored 29 points to lead Arkansas Tech (19-2, 17-0 GAC) to a victory over Southern Arkansas (14-7, 10-7 GAC) in Magnolia.

SAU hit five of its first nine shots to take a 13-5 lead early, but Arkansas Tech responded with an 18-2 run. The Golden Suns led 39-32 with 1:48 left in the first half after two free throws by Adams. The Lady Muleriders ended the half on a 9-0 run to take a 41-39 lead, marking the first time Arkansas Tech has trailed at halftime this season during conference play.

Anissa Pounds hit a three-pointer from the left corner with 8:02 left in the game to give Arkansas Tech a 63-62 lead. SAU reclaimed the lead less than a minute later, but the Golden Suns used a 9-0 run over the next five minutes to take a 72-64 lead.

Adams grabbed 13 rebounds to go with her 29 points and Pounds finished with 15 points, including her 1,000th career point on the three-pointer in the fourth quarter. Tierra Tucker led Southern Arkansas with 20 points, while Shana Holmes had 16 and Rosa Bryant chipped in 13.

HENDERSON STATE 70, ARKANSAS-MONTICELLO 56

Dulincia Keener scored 30 points and grabbed 20 rebounds for Henderson State (10-13, 9-8 GAC), becoming the school's all-time leading rebounder, and the Reddies outscored Arkansas-Monticello (11-10, 8-9 GAC) 39-23 in the second half to pull away in the victory at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia.

Victoria Stewart added 11 points for Henderson State. Jordan Goforth led UAM with 21 points and Nikki Mullen added 17.

HEARTLAND WOMEN

OKLA. PANHANDLE ST. 67, ARKANSAS-FORT SMITH 47

Arkansas-Fort Smith (16-8, 9-6 Heartland Conference) shot a season-low 24 percent from the floor and tied a season high with 23 turnovers as Oklahoma Panhandle State (2-20, 1-13) snapped a 14-game losing streak at Oscar Williams Fieldhouse in Goodwell, Okla.

Jasmine Brainard led the Lady Lions with 15 points and Brittany Alavinejad led the Lady Aggies with 13 points.
