Bluebird Society

The Bella Vista Bluebird Society needs volunteers to help in the effort to conserve bluebirds. The society needs monitors for bluebird trails to follow the birds during the nesting season (early March to mid-August). The society also needs maintenance people to repair or replace boxes on the various trails.

The society has 416 boxes on 36 trails across Bella Vista. Most of the boxes are located on the seven golf courses. Volunteer work could be at a course or trail near you.

Cancer Support

Hope Cancer Resources hosts a support group for adult patients, family and friends coping with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, MDS and other blood cancers from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hope Cancer Resources in Springdale.

A group specifically for teens ages 13 to 18 who have a loved one diagnosed with cancer meets the third Monday of every month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Hope Cancer Resources. This group is led by oncology social workers.

Computers

The Bella Vista Computer Club will host Best Buy representatives at 7 p.m. Monday in the Community Room of Highlands Crossing Center (lower level), 1801 Forest Hills Blvd.

Topics in this public meeting will include new technology and applications, avoiding problems and fixing problems. Members are encouraged to bring their personal tablets, laptops and smart phones to learn new applications and how to get more out of what they have.

Christian Women

"Library of Life" is the theme for the Bella Vista Christian Women's Connection brunch which will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m.Tuesday. The featured speaker will be Beth Walker, who will discuss therapy dogs. Guest speaker Linda Apple, an author from Springdale, will be sharing "Life From a Writer's Point of View."

The all-American style breakfast brunch will be held at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd. The cost is $10.

The organization is nondenominational, and the public is welcome. The program is presented by Stonecroft Ministries.

Ceramics Club

Classes are held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Tuesday at Riordan Hall, and new members are invited.

Photographers

The Bella Vista/Bentonville Photography Club will meet from 6:15 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Bentonville Public Library. The speaker will be wildlife photographer Mike Martin.

Veterans

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the General Store on the grounds of the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, 118 W. Johnson St. in Springdale.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of men who fought for the United States during the Civil War.

Christian Women

Local ladies are invited to a Christian Women’s Connection meeting from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fayetteville Country Club, 3335

S. Country Club Drive.

The speaker will be Linda Apple, and her topic will be “Life From A Writer’s Point of View.” She will also present a feature titled “Your Story Matters.” Music will be provided by Karen Faries of Rogers.

DAR

The Abendschone (Eureka Springs) Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at noon Thursday in the ECHO Community Room, Arkansas 23 and Rockhouse Road. There will be a business meeting followed by an awards ceremony honoring local high school seniors for their participation in DAR’s Good Citizens Award program.

NARFE

Bella Vista Chapter 1547, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, will meet at 10 a.m. Friday at the Bella Vista Historical Museum, 1885 Bella Vista Way.

There will be a short business meeting followed by a talk and tour of the museum.

All current and retired federal employees and their spouses are welcome.

Iota Alpha

The monthly meeting of the Iota Alpha Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi, will be on Wednesday at the home of Kay Nelson.

The program, by Shirley Sheets, will be about the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank. The service project for the month is also the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.

Members will meet for the monthly social at the Village Insurance Community Room at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 23.

Radio Club

Little Switzerland Amateur Radio Club will meet at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Physicians Building at Mercy Hospital, 211 Carter St. in Berryville. Anyone with an interest in amateur radio is welcome to attend.

After the meeting, at approximately 6 p.m., they will be conducting tests for technician, general and extra class amateur radio licenses. There is a charge of $15 for each individual taking the tests.
