Police release name in Thursday shooting

A Bentonville man shot in his home Thursday is still hospitalized and recovering from his injury Friday.

James Thornton Brown, 30, is the man who was injured Thursday, according to Bentonville police.

Police were called to 2500 S.E. Fourth Street at 9:4 a.m. Thursday for report of a burglary, according to a news release from the department. Brown told them he had just returned to the house and found a man inside.

The two struggled and Brown's gun fired, injuring him, Brown told police.

Police were searching the neighborhood Thursday for a man wearing a blue ski mask and dark jacket.
