The ninth annual Northwest Wine Opener to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Arkansas Chapter, is set for Feb. 26 at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers. The evening will include wine tastings, samplings from area restaurants and caterers, a VIP reserve tasting option, wine and spirit pull and dancing afterwards with DJ Derrick.
Diane Byrum, development director, said proceeds go toward research and quality of care for cystic fibrosis patients.

According to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation website, cff.org, cystic fibrosis is a "life-threatening, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and progressively limits the ability to breathe."
Live auction items include a trip to Napa Valley, Calif., for four -- with airfare, hotel and visits to eight wineries -- and a bourbon-tasting trip for four to Kentucky -- with airfare, hotel, limousine service and distillery visits.
Title sponsor for the fundraiser is Smithfield Foods, and Pabst Blue Ribbon is the title beverage sponsor.
Wine vendors for the Opener include Banfi, Carriage House Imports, Cline Cellars, Constellation, Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, E & J Gallo Winery, J.
