Antoine Jackson, 29, of 1200 Park Drive in North Little Rock is charged with capital murder.

During a status hearing Tuesday, Circuit Judge Mark Lindsay reset Jackson's case for another court appearance March 11. The state Office of Public Defender is expected to appoint someone in the interim to handle the case.

Emily Nash, 28, was found dead May 27 in her apartment at 802 H Bailey Ave. in Springdale, according to a police report. She had been shot in the head and a hand.

Jackson faces the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted of capital murder.

The state Crime Laboratory found fingerprint and DNA evidence placing Jackson at the crime scene, officials said. That evidence was found on the gun and Nash's body, police report said.

Nash's family told police that Jackson was Nash's boyfriend and he had been living with Nash, but police didn't find anything belonging to Jackson when they searched the apartment, the report said.

Jackson was arrested May 29 in Little Rock on possession of marijuana charges and parole absconder warrants, the report said.

On May 30, Jackson was booked into the Washington County jail on suspicion of violating parole related to drug and other misdemeanor offenses, according to online jail records and police documents.

Jackson was being held at the Washington County jail in November when he was charged in Nash's death. He was still being held at the jail after his hearing Tuesday.
