— Arkansas signed 18 players to letters of intent Wednesday during college football's national signing day.

The Razorbacks' class was ranked between the 23rd and 33rd-best nationally by the four most popular recruiting services - ESPN, Scout, Rivals and 24/7. Three of those services ranked Arkansas' class ninth among SEC teams, while Rivals ranked the class 12th in the conference.

Beaumont, Texas, running back Devwah Whaley highlighted the group of signees Wednesday. Whaley is rated the nation's sixth-best running back by ESPN and signed with Arkansas after backing out of a verbal commitment to Georgia following a coaching change last year.

The Razorbacks' highest-rated signee in this year's class is defensive end McTelvin Agim of Hope. Agim, who is rated by ESPN as the third-best player at his position and 11th-best player overall nationally, signed with Arkansas in December and is already enrolled in classes at the university.

In addition to Agim, the Razorbacks signed three players from in-state: defensive tackle Austin Capps of Star City; wide receiver T.J. Hammonds of Pulaski Robinson; and wide receiver Jordan Jones of Smackover.

Capps and Hammonds are rated four-star recruits by at least one publication, as are offensive lineman Jake Heinrich of Urbandale, Iowa, and defensive tackle Briston Guidry of Metairie, Louisiana.

Cornerback Joseph Putu, who was a second-team all-American at North Dakota State College of Science last year, signed with Florida after verbally committing to Arkansas.

The Razorbacks also lost on a pair of highly-rated signees who had Arkansas listed as a finalist entering the day. Cornerback Kristian Fulton of Metairie, Louisiana, signed with LSU and wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland of Houston signed with Florida.
