Tontitown officials agreed to settle a lawsuit by former Police Chief Kris Arthur over his firing in January 2015, according to Justin Eichmann, the city's attorney.

Arthur will be paid $30,000.

The city will pay $15,000 and the Arkansas Municipal League will pay the other half because the city buys insurance from the league to cover termination cases.

The city admitted no wrongdoing, Eichmann said.
