North Little Rock police arrested Ladetrick Harris of North Little Rock on July 25 after a classmate told police that Harris threw a rock at him and kicked him while six other boys robbed him in the 3000 block of Pike Avenue, according to an arrest report.

Prosecutors charged Harris as an adult, but Pulaski County Circuit Judge Leon Johnson moved the case to juvenile court after hearing testimony about Harris' unstable family life.

The move to juvenile court will give the state more options to reduce the likelihood that Harris will re-offend, according to testimony from Scott Tanner, juvenile justice ombudsman with the Arkansas Public Defender Commission.
