Jennifer Ellen Nixon became the bride of David Trent Hubbard at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, in Lakeside United Methodist Church, Pine Bluff. Officiating were the Rev. Steve Wingo of the church and the Rev. Britt Skarda of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.

Ann and Dr. David Nixon of Pine Bluff are the parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Jane and the late Dr. Robert Nixon and the late Margaret and Carl Edwards, all of Pine Bluff.

Parents of the bridegroom are Amanda and the late Judge David Hubbard of Fort Smith. His grandparents are the late Katherine and Charles Hubbard of Fort Smith and the late Claudia and William Pipkins of Pocola, Okla.

The sanctuary was decorated for Christmas with a Chrismon tree, and evergreens and candles in the windows. Two urns filled with white snapdragons, hydrangeas, roses, lilies and corkscrew willow were on each side of the altar. Music was by organist James Maase.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory A-line satin gown with an overlay of illusion embellished with embroidered lace appliques and a scalloped hem. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, roses and lilies.

Sally Nixon of Little Rock served as her sister's maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alice McClure and Carol Ricketts, both of Little Rock, and Laura Nixon of Pine Bluff, all sisters of the bride. They wore gowns of eggplant-colored chiffon with beaded lace bodices and carried bouquets of white hydrangeas, roses and alstroemeria.

Flower girls were Betsy McClure, Charlotte McClure, Sarah Margaret McClure, Emma Ricketts and Claire Ricketts, nieces of the bride and all of Little Rock. Ring bearer was Zach Hubbard of Little Rock, son of the bridegroom.

Serving as the bridegroom's honor attendant was Karen Steelman of Maumelle. Groomsmen were Shawn Johnson of Little Rock, Richard Hawthorne of Bryant and Brian Fisher of Dallas. Family members were seated by Wesley McClure of Little Rock, nephew of the bride.

A reception in the church's Fellowship Hall was held after the ceremony. Guest tables held a mix of tall glass cylinder vases and cube vases filled with white flowers.

The bride graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in history from Hendrix College in Conway, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She is a features reporter for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

The bridegroom has bachelor's degrees in business, economics and religion, and a master's degree in accounting from Hendrix. He is church administrator at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church and director of music and organist at St. Luke United Methodist Church.

After a wedding trip to New York and Savannah, Ga., the couple will make their home in Little Rock.
