Second Thoughts

RB Gurley fails to care fantasy-wise

Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley (30) is having a lousy season, and he is hearing about it on Twitter from fantasy league owners, who are disappointed in his production.

Todd Gurley's second season in the NFL isn't going anything like his offensive rookie of the year campaign. And he doesn't want to hear about it from disgruntled fantasy owners.

Gurley doesn't have a 100-yard rushing game, his longest run is 24 yards and he is averaging 3.2 yards per carry this year for the Los Angeles Rams.

Not all of it is his fault, The Rams' offensive line is a mess and defenses have no reason to respect their sub-par passing game, but it's still a forgettable season for Gurley.

Gurley was likely a first-round pick in many fantasy leagues this season, and that hasn't worked out well for the fantasy owners who picked him. So after gaining 36 yards and not scoring in a 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, Gurley was hearing from hecklers on social media. And he didn't back down.

"@TG3II if I ever see you in public we're fist fighting over your fantasy football performance this year," tweeted @CodyHasek1.

"Pull up then," Gurley responded.

"Been waiting on you in the end zone. Where you at?" @CodyHasek1 countered.

Gurley does have five rushing touchdowns, but the heckler should be given a point for his use of sarcasm.

Brady's slippers

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady hid three pairs of signed Uggs slippers around Boston on Thursday.

One fan, Luke Barosky, went all-out to find them, but he came up empty-handed and, even worse, empty-mouthed as he lost a tooth during the search.

"Saw your posts about signed slippers," Barosky posted on Brady's Facebook account. "... Sprinted like the wind. Fell like the stone. End result: 1 missing tooth. 2 cuts. 0 ugg slippers signed by Tom Brady. So if anyone is up at Dorchester Heights. The slippers are gone but my tooth is still there."

Brady responded Thursday afternoon.

"Thanks to everyone for giving it their all today, especially Luke Barosky! Luke, sorry to hear about your tooth..." Brady wrote. "Send me an email at [email protected] [with a thumbs up picture of yourself to authenticate] and I'll send you that pair of signed UGGs you worked so hard to get!"

Barosky did just that as Brady later posted a picture of the fan with a thumbs up.

Game on

Golf fans will have something big to look forward to during next year's offseason. "Hey @BeefGolf me and @booweekley challenge you and your partner to a birdie, beer and beef triathlon next year..let's c if u da real deal," Bowditch tweeted.

"Oh for sure. My partner will be @PGA_JohnDaly," Johnston replied.
