UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS

Jordana Thibado of Fayetteville, a recent honors graduate from the University of Arkansas, served as the lead author on a research paper in Biochemistry, one of the leading journals in its field. The paper is currently published online and will be in the journal’s print edition as well.

Thibado’s paper shares two research findings that contribute to the understanding of cell membrane properties and, in the long term, could inform treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

Thibado is a 2012 graduate of Fayetteville High School and is the daughter Theresa and Paul Thibado. Thibado earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minor in biology, magna cum laude, last spring, and worked for four years in the research lab of UA distinguished professor Roger Koeppe.

Thibado is now pursuing a doctoral degree in physiology, biophysics and systems biology at Weill Medical College, Cornell University’s medical campus in New York City.
