Woman in hospital after NLR shooting

A woman shot multiple times at a North Little Rock hotel Friday morning is in critical condition, police said.

North Little Rock police arrived at the Sportsman's Inn at 2501 E. Broadway around 5 a.m. after getting a call about a shooting, according to a news release.

Officers found an unidentified woman with multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to UAMS Medical Center, police said.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and no arrests had been made. Anyone with information can call the Police Department at (501) 758-1234.

Girlfriend attacked, officer hit; man held

A Little Rock man was arrested Thursday after being accused of hitting his pregnant girlfriend and then punching an officer in the face.

Officers arrived at the residence of 20-year-old Demarcus Trammel Johnson in the 9600 block of West 36th Street around noon Thursday, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Johnson's girlfriend, who said she is three months pregnant, told police Johnson hit her, according to the report. Officers noted she had bruising and red marks on her right arm.

Police said they told Johnson to turn around to be handcuffed, but he wrapped his arms around an officer and refused to let go. Police then struck Johnson, and he punched an officer twice in the face before he was put on the ground and pepper-sprayed, an officer wrote in the report.

Johnson faces two battery charges and one count of resisting arrest. He is being held without bail, and a court date is set for Thursday.

Flung knife gashed hand, beau reports

A Little Rock woman was arrested Thursday after her boyfriend said she threw a knife at him, gashing his hand, according to a police report.

Police arrived at the home of Ashley Michele Martin, 31, around 9:30 p.m. Martin's boyfriend told investigators she threw a large butcher knife at him and it sliced a "deep laceration" into his left hand that required medical attention, a Little Rock police officer wrote in a report.

Martin faces a charge of second-degree domestic battery, records show.
