Tigers' WR suspended

Missouri wide receiver Keyon Dilosa has been suspended indefinitely after he was arrested before dawn Wednesday and accused by a witness of punching a woman in the face. A Boone County jailer said Dilosa was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor third-degree domestic assault. A police report states the witness reported that Dilosa argued with the woman outside a bar before hitting her. The 21-year-old was later released after posting $1,000 bond. No charges were immediately filed. Associate athletic director Chad Moller said the school is "aware of the situation and addressing it internally." Dilosa doesn't have a listed phone number and didn't immediately respond to an email from The Associated Press. The sophomore from Round Rock, Texas, played in three games this season, catching two passes for 7 yards. Dilosa is the fourth Missouri football player to be arrested this season. Standout running back Damarea Crockett (Little Rock Christian) was booked for possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana on Nov. 20, costing him a one-game suspension against Arkansas that ended the season for the Tigers.

McQueary to get more

A former Penn State assistant football coach is getting an additional $5 million over his treatment by the university following Jerry Sandusky's arrest on child molestation charges five years ago. Judge Thomas Gavin ruled in favor of Mike McQueary's whistleblower claim against the university Wednesday, adding to a jury's $7.3 million verdict issued last month for defamation and misrepresentation. McQueary had told investigators he saw Sandusky sexually abuse a boy in a team shower in 2001. After Sandusky's arrest, McQueary was put on leave with pay and hasn't returned to coaching. Gavin is concluding that Penn State retaliated against McQueary. The judge is awarding McQueary legal fees, nearly $4 million in lost wages, and $1 million for humiliation and harm to his reputation. A university spokesman declined to immediately comment.

Carr: No limitations

Derek Carr said he will have no limitations this week because of the injured pinkie on his throwing hand that forced him to miss a series last week. Carr deflected all questions about the finger Wednesday, saying repeatedly that it's "doing great." Carr dislocated the finger while taking a snap on the second play from scrimmage in the second half of Sunday's 35-32 victory over Carolina. He left for a series before returning to play the rest of the game with a glove on his throwing hand. Carr took all snaps out of the shotgun to protect the finger and led the Raiders to a comeback victory. Carr was holding a glove when he left the field following a walkthrough on Wednesday and kept his hand in the pocket of his sweatshirt while talking to the media.

Starters may return

The Seattle Seahawks are hopeful starters Earl Thomas and DeShawn Shead will return for Sunday's game against Carolina. Coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Thomas and Shead were expected to practice. Both players suffered hamstring injuries two weeks ago in a victory over Philadelphia and missed last Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay. Shead is considered to be ahead of Thomas in the recovery process and Carroll said the status of both likely won't be determined until Saturday. Seattle could have a number of injured players back against the Panthers, including defensive end Michael Bennett following minor knee surgery and starting center Justin Britt. The Seahawks will be making a change at right tackle with Bradley Sowell stepping in as the starter in place of Garry Gilliam.

Dolphins' tackle cut

Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Leon Orr has been cut after his arrest on drug charges in Florida. Coach Adam Gase said the team cut Orr immediately after learning of the arrest during Wednesday's practice. A Collier County sheriff's office arrest report said deputies stopped Orr on eastbound Interstate 75 on Tuesday afternoon. The report states the 24-year-old's black BMW appeared to have illegally tinted windows. Deputies reported they could smell marijuana and that a search turned up marijuana wax and a substance labeled Kush Syrup. Orr was arrested and charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession and felony possession of a controlled substance. He was later released after posting $7,000 bail. Jail records didn't list an attorney for Orr. Orr played at the University of Florida and was in his second NFL season.

Broncos' QB held out

Quarterback Trevor Siemian was held out of the Denver Broncos' practice Wednesday because of a foot injury. It's not known how Siemian got hurt or the severity of his injury. Siemian never left the game against Kansas City on Sunday night, when he threw for a career-high 368 yards despite being sacked five times in Denver's 30-27 overtime loss to the Chiefs. The Broncos have had problems protecting the passer all season. They benched right tackle Ty Sambrailo early in the game after he had allowed two of Justin Houston's three sacks. Overall, Siemian was hit a dozen times in the game.

No Ducks interest

San Francisco 49ers head Coach Chip Kelly said Wednesday that he has no interest in the Oregon Ducks coaching job and has not spoken to anyone associated with the program about it. Kelly was head coach at Oregon from 2009 to 2012, compiling a 46-7 record. He won at least a share of the conference title every season he was head coach and led the Ducks to the 2011 BCS national championship game, where they lost to Auburn. Oregon fired Kelly's successor, Mark Helfrich, on Tuesday after four seasons and a 37-16 record. The Ducks went 4-8 this season, their first losing season since 2004. Kelly said he spoke to Helfrich on Wednesday morning to offer support.

Money increasing

The LPGA Tour will have four new tournaments next year with an increase of $4.35 million in total prize money. Commissioner Mike Whan announced the 2017 schedule Wednesday. It features 34 official tournaments, 21 of them in North America and 16 with prize money of $2 million or more. Whan said the U.S. Women's Open would have a $5 million purse, the largest ever in women's golf. Some of the events previously were announced. The surprise was the Lorena Ochoa Invitational in Mexico moving from November to May and switching to match play. The field was particularly weak this year because it was between the end of the fall Asia swing and the CME Group Tour Championship in Florida. The season starts Jan. 26 in the Bahamas with the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. The Coates Championship played in Ocala is no longer on the schedule. Another domestic event, the Swinging Skirts Classic in San Francisco in April, has moved to Taiwan in the fall. Two of the new tournaments are in the United States -- the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic in Oneida, Wis., and the Indy Women in Tech Championship at Brickyard Crossing that weaves through the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The other two are the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open and the McKayson New Zealand Women's Open. Total official prize money is $67.35 million, up nearly $10 million from 2014.

Fighters organizing

Former UFC champions Georges St. Pierre, Cain Velasquez and T.J. Dillashaw have joined an attempt to form a mixed martial arts fighters association. Current UFC fighters Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone and Tim Kennedy also announced their participation Wednesday in an organizing effort led by fighters and joined by Bjorn Rebney, the former CEO of Bellator. The Mixed Martial Arts Athletes Association is the latest attempt to organize fighters in a famously individualistic sport into a collective bargaining unit. Other attempts at a fighters' organization have made little headway. St. Pierre hasn't fought in three years, but has become increasingly antagonistic toward the UFC during his retirement. Three of the involved fighters are represented by Creative Artists Agency, a rival of the WME-IMG conglomerate which bought the UFC earlier this year.
