A woman and a child died in separate crashes in Hot Springs and Pope counties over the weekend, the Arkansas State Police said.
At 11 p.m. Saturday, a minor driving a 2013 Honda ATV west on Beaumont Beach Road in Pope County, near Dover, drove off the south side of the road into a ditch and overturned, a preliminary accident report said.
The minor was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.
State police do not identify minors involved in fatal crashes.
On Sunday, Billy Weaver, 59, of Benton lost control of a 2016 Harley Davidson at 2:56 p.m. while traveling west on Arkansas 222 near Donaldson, crossed the centerline on a wet curve and crashed into a vehicle's right side, according to the preliminary fatal crash summary.
Relda Steelman, a 52-year-old passenger from Hot Springs Village, died in the accident, police said. Weaver was injured. They were taken to CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs.
