September is when things fall -- leaves fall, fall, fall, the temperature falls (but not much), and newspapers plop on the porch. Labor Day drops on Monday, circus clowns go whoopsy-boom, and bronc riders take a tumble. But things pick up too: fall festivals, fall arts and crafts shows, and the main thing to pick up -- more leaves.
