Wilson hits two homers; Cardinals beat Naturals

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Jacob Wilson hit two of the Springfield Cardinals’ five home runs in a 9-5 win over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Tuesday.

Luke Voit, Bruce Caldwell and Paul DeJong also homered for the Cardinals.

Wilson hit a solo shot in the third inning off Eric Skoglund and then hit a three-run homer in the sixth off Miguel Almonte.

Springfield right-hander Matt Pearce (1-2) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing two runs on just four hits over eight innings. Opposing starter Skoglund (6-10) took the loss in the Texas League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and seven hits over 51/3 innings. Kevin Herget recorded his eighth save of the season.

Logan Moon homered and singled, driving in two runs for the Naturals.

TRAVELERS 2, DRILLERS 0 Jabari Henry hit a two-run single in the eighth inning, leading the Arkansas Travelers to a win over the Tulsa Drillers. The single by Henry scored David Fletcher and Alex Yarbrough and provided all the offense for Arkansas. Starter Jo
