Robert Daniel Edwards, 21, faces charges of first-degree murder and first-degree battery in the shooting Saturday at Spanish Jon's Apartments.

Officers arrived at 4:52 a.m. at the apartment complex at 5001 W. 65th St. and found Michael Lee, 21, fatally shot in the head. Police were then called to UAMS Medical Center where Anthony Neal, 20, was being treated for multiple gunshot wounds in the same shooting, according to reports.

Little Rock police identified Edwards as a suspect in the case later that day. He surrendered to police Monday, records show.

District Judge Alice Lightle on Tuesday set bail for Edwards at $100,000. He was being held in the Pulaski County jail.

Edwards was one of two shooters at the apartment complex Saturday, according to a police affidavit. Witnesses told police that Edwards and another man, described only as black, opened fire on Lee and Neal after an argument. The witnesses were not named in the court filing.

Police detective Greg Siegler wrote in the affidavit that during a police photo lineup, the witnesses identified Edwards, who is known as "Lil' Rob," as one of the shooters.

Police spokesman Richard Hilgeman said Tuesday that he had no further details in the case.

Edwards was last known to live at 3510 S. Bryant St. in Little Rock. His next court date was set for Oct. 31.

Lee's death is the 21st homicide of the year in Little Rock. No additional arrests had been made in the case late Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing.
