In a news release Tuesday, the Boone County sheriff's office said bail had been set at $20,000 for the vehicle's driver, 26-year-old Cody Eastep of Western Grove. He remained in the county jail as of Tuesday afternoon, records show.

Authorities said Eastep lost control of the vehicle Saturday on Old Bellefonte Road near McElroy Road, causing it to roll over and come to a rest in a ditch on the road's south side, sustaining "significant damage."

One of three passengers, 25-year-old Heather Fanning, was killed. Two children, ages 3 and 7, were treated and released from North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, according to the sheriff's office.

In addition to charges of negligent homicide and driving while intoxicated, Eastep also faces two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and one count each of driving on a suspended driver's license and reckless driving.
