Construction on the Bella Vista Bypass will require a lane closure on Peach Orchard Road in Benton County through Friday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.
The installation of cross drains on Peach Orchard will reduce traffic about a half-mile east of U.S. 71 to the new overpass on the bypass to one lane from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting. The work began Monday.
Traffic will be controlled using signs and flaggers, but the department said motorists may experience delays. The work originally was scheduled for earlier this month.
The work is part of a project to construct about 6 miles of the bypass, also called Arkansas 549/Future I-49, from U.S. 71B to Arkansas 72 South.
The project is building two lanes of what will become a four-lane route, the department said.
