FAYETTEVILLE -- A Bethal Heights man pleaded guilty in Washington County Circuit Court on Friday to negligent homicide and first-degree battery related to a fatal car wreck in March.
Ralpho Niriear, 24 was sentenced to 20 years at the Arkansas Department of Correction on the negligent homicide charge and 26 years with 20 suspended on the battery charge. The terms are to run concurrently.
Prosecutors said Niriear was driving while intoxicated March 13 when he hit another vehicle causing the death of one person and injuring another.
Niriear was given credit for two days jail time served.
