Six students injured in Rogers school bus accident

ROGERS — Six students received minor cuts in a school bus accident early Wednesday, a Rogers School District spokeswoman said.

The accident happened at 7:04 a.m. in the parking lot of the Lost Springs apartment complex in Little Flock. The bus hit an unmarked pole that extended 6 feet from a parked truck, resulting in some broken windows on one side of the bus, according to Ashley Siwiec, district director of communications.

There were 30 students on the bus at the time. Most were elementary students headed to Mathias Elementary School. There also were at least two high school students on board, Siwiec said.

Paramedics checked out about half of the students on the bus. Six students received bandages for minor cuts. All students continued on to their schools, Siwiec said.

The bus driver was not cited for the accident, Siwiec said.
