NFL

Fans plan to sue

Several fans who traveled to Canton, Ohio, for the Hall of Fame game that was canceled on Sunday night because of poor field conditions are planning to sue the NFL and the hall.

Attorney Michael Avenatti, who represented ticket holders for the 2011 Super Bowl who wound up without seats in Dallas, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that no fewer than 20 individuals have approached him about a class-action lawsuit. He said his firm has fielded another 10 calls about seeking further reimbursements, including travel expenses.

Avenatti said his clients are from a variety of states, including Wisconsin and Indiana, who came to see the Packers play the Colts.

The game was canceled after paint congealed and hardened on portions of the field at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

COWBOYS

Team wants to stay in LA

OXNARD, Calif. -- The Rams and Cowboys have reunited in Southern California, and there's nothing to suggest it won't stay that way.

Dallas owner Jerry Jones wants to keep visiting the West Coast for training camp despite the Rams' reclaiming of the Los Angeles market and his team's new facility in Texas that will soon have everything the Cowboys need to hold camp at home.

The billionaire businessman is also confident the Rams won't have a problem with the Cowboys staying, and might even prefer it. Oxnard Mayor Tim Flynn says the Cowboys want another contract beyond next year.

Dallas first starting training in the LA area in 1963, long before the Rams moved to St. Louis. They moved back this offseason.

BRONCOS

QB pair selected to start

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian will play the first half of the preseason opener at Chicago on Thursday night.

Coach Gary Kubiak held off on choosing a starter, though.

Sanchez and Siemian are listed as co-No. 1s on the depth chart as neither has shown himself as the clear-cut starter for the Super Bowl champions.

Kubiak said he would later Tuesday with his staff to decide who would take the first offensive snap Thursday. He said the game plan is to play Sanchez and Siemian a quarter each, and to have rookie Paxton Lynch play the second half against the Bears.

The Broncos traded for the veteran Sanchez after Peyton Manning retired and Brock Osweiler signed with Houston. Siemian, Denver's third quarterback for most of 2015, impressed in offseason workouts to make training camp a quarterback competition.

GIANTS

WR Cruz has groin injury

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Wide receiver Victor Cruz may miss the New York Giants' preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins because of a groin injury.

Once one of the NFL's biggest playmakers, Cruz has not played in a game since hurting a knee midway through the 2014 season. He missed all of last season with a calf injury.

Coach Ben McAdoo was taking a wait-and-see approach when asked whether the seventh-year receiver would play on Friday night at MetLife Stadium.

Cruz also was uncertain about the game, but he was not frustrated. He said the injury was a typical training camp problem, adding the important thing for him is to listen to his body. He insisted the groin issue was not a major one.
