A $1 million bail has been set for a Ward man accused of killing his wife.
Bail for Steven Watters was set Friday morning in Lonoke County Circuit Court, according to John Huggins, chief deputy prosecuting attorney for Lonoke County.
Watters, 51, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 35-year-old Catherine Watters, according to a news release from the Ward Police Department. Steven Watters was arrested at 6:18 p.m. Wednesday, the release said.
Ward police worked with Arkansas State Police on the investigation.
Watters is expected back in court in September.
