Weston and Robertson, both seniors, return as all-state golfers for the Lady Tigers and began the new season with a more competitive head to head battle than against the rest of the field. Robertson played as Bentonville's No. 1 player Tuesday, but it was Weston who came away as medalist after early birdies on holes No. 2 and No. 3 led to her strong day.
"I don't think my goal was to win today," Weston said. "I think my goal was for us to win as a team. I knew Kate and I would both play well.
"(Kate) is awesome. I would definitely say she's been the better golfer for the past three years, and this past summer we just evenly played most of the time. We just push each other all the time to be our best."
Six teams competed in the Lady Wildcat Invitational, with individual players also participating from Rogers Heritage and Harrison.
Bentonville has now won the event four consecutive years in a row.
"We've got three seniors and a sophomore, and Kinslee is our freshman," Bentonville coach Lindsey Davis said. "We're looking for a couple to come through in our fourth and fifth spots.
"They have good camaraderie together, and they play a lot together on our home course. So they're ready to start this season."
Greenwood finished third with a 298 score, led by an individual 78 from Sydnie Gamble. Mountain Home took fourth and Siloam Springs was fifth.
