Arkansas basketball will host Austin Peay in 2016-17

— Arkansas has added a third NCAA Tournament team from last season to its 2016-17 schedule.

Arkansas 2016-17 Nonconference Schedule

TBA - at Minnesota

TBA - vs Stephen F. Austin

Dec. 3 - vs Austin Peay

Dec. 6 - vs Houston

Dec. 17 - vs Texas (in Houston)

Jan. 28 - at Oklahoma State

The Razorbacks will host Austin Peay on Dec. 3 at Bud Walton Arena, according to the Governors' schedule that was released Wednesday. Austin Peay is the defending Ohio Valley Conference champion and lost to Kansas in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last March.

It will be the third meeting between the teams and first since 2008. Arkansas also won a meeting in 1983.

Austin Peay is the sixth known opponent for the Razorbacks next season. Arkansas has confirmed dates against Texas in Houston on Dec. 17 and at Oklahoma State on Jan. 28.

The Razorbacks will reportedly play Houston in Fayetteville on Dec. 6. Dates have yet to be confirmed for a road game at Minnesota and a home game against Stephen F. Austin.

Arkansas director of basketball operations Matt Zimmerman said Wednesday that the team's nonconference schedule is full, but the Razorbacks are awaiting contracts to be finalized before releasing the schedule.
