Hope Community Bible Church in Rogers, 5214 Village Parkway, presents Justin Peters speaking at 6:45 p.m. today and 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday.

Forest Hills Church in Bella Vista, an American Baptist congregation, 1702 Bella Vista Blvd., sponsors its American Baptist Women in a spring reception at 5:30 p.m. May 12. Susan Young of the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale will speak on “Meats, Meals and Molasses,” with a video highlighting early 20th-century Arkansas food preparation. Men also are invited.

Rogers First Church of the Nazarene, 4911 W. Pleasant Grove Road, presents the Collingsworth Family on the Day Is Coming tour at 7 p.m. May 19. Originally from Petersburg, Mich., their music is regularly featured on Enlighten, Gospel Music Television, DayStar Network and featured in one-hour specials on the Inspiration network. And they have sung with many Gaither Homecoming concerts across the United States and Canada.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., presents the Andante Music Group in “Festival Superiors Performances” at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

A Bible study is held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, and a game day is planned for 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday.

Church members will volunteer with Helping Hands on Saturday.

The Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) group offers a garage sale at 8:30 a.m. today at 4 Newnham Circle in Bella Vista. The group meets from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

The church currently invites registration for this summer’s vacation Bible school, “Walk This Way.” Sessions — for children 3 years old to sixth grade — are 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 26-30. The 21st season of the Wesley concert series returns at 7 p.m. May 7 with the Graduate Quartet of the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Members include Yee Ling Elaine Ng on violin, Yi-Miao Huang on violin, Mei-Chun Chen on viola and Qizhen Liu on cello. They will play works of Haydn, Beethoven and Debussy.

The United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road, presents the Bentonville Chamber Choir in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday. The choir from Bentonville High School has performed by invitation at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and an offering will be taken to support the group’s tour.

Terry Hicks directs the choir, and church member Claire Redlaczyk is also a member of the choir.

Living Word Lutheran Church in Rogers, meeting at the Center for Nonprofits at St. Mary’s, 1200 Walnut St., presents Mameo Paulo, a bishop of the Morogora Diocese in Tanzania, speaking at a dinner from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Monday. Reservations requested.

Paulo attended Trinity Lutheran College in Everett, Wash., and served there as pastor and bishop.

Living Word provides support to the Morogora Diocese, including yearly funds for a surgical medical team, support of a seminary student, a water reclamation project and supplying Bibles and bicycles.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, 225 N. East Ave., presents a bluegrass, folk and jazz fusion concert by the Kruger Brothers at 7:30 p.m. May.

  1. The concert benefits the Magdalene Serenity House, a place of healing for women who have been victims of sexual abuse, human trafficking, addiction and incarceration.

Jonathan Story, church organist at Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, plays in concert at 2:30 p.m. May 8. Admission is free, but an offering will be taken to support the work of Redemption Church in Ogden, Utah, a mission partner with the local church.

The church’s music ministry presents its spring concert at 6 p.m. May 15. The event features all groups in the church’s graded choir and bell ministry, with children from age 3 through high school students performing.
