COREY SMITH — Alt-country singer/songwriter Corey Smith will perform at 8:30 p.m. today at George’s Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville. Smith released his 10th and most ambitious album, “While the Gettin’ Is Good,” last summer. The project was produced by Keith Stegall, who has produced major names like Alan Jackson and the Zac Brown Band. “Keith knows how to make country records,” Smith says. “But I wanted to make my kind of country record, and he understood that immediately.” Smith will be joined by Rob Baird. coreysmith.com. $20.

DAKHABRAKHA — Dubbed the “Best Break Out” at Bonnaroo by Rolling Stone, Ukrainian “ethno chaos” group DakhaBrakha has radically revived and reshaped their musical heritage, giving native folk tunes a contemporary edge. The ensemble simultaneously crafts a trans-national sound using traditional instruments from various cultures alongside astonishingly powerful and uncompromising vocal harmonies.
