Erin Wadley, graduating in May from Arkansas State University with a B.A. in political science, received the R.E. Lee Wilson Award.

Kenneth Carper, eSTEM Public Charter of Little Rock sophomore, will be a delegate of the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Lowell, Mass., on June 29-July 1.

Arkansas Department of Emergency Management Director David Maxwell was named first recipient of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials Trailblazer Award.

Margarita Pintado, assistant professor of Spanish at Ouachita Baptist University, won first prize for her poetry manuscript A Girl Who Looks Like Me in the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture's 2015 Literature Awards.

Jimmy Porter, of Hot Springs, social science education senior at Arkansas State University, received the Lillian Barton scholarship. His parents are Jim and Debbie Porter of Hot Springs.

Genevieve Munson, of Rogers, was part of the team that took the silver medal at the International Federation of Equestrian Sports Children's Nations Cup.

Samuel Wirges, senior at LISA Academy North, received a Governor's Distinguished Scholarship to attend Lyon College. Wirges is the son of Gary and Ann Wirges of North Little Rock.

Ganesh Kumar, a University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff doctoral graduate, received the 2015 Best Ph.D. Dissertation Award from the International Association of Aquaculture Economics and Management.

Lillian McEntire, of North Little Rock, undergraduate student at UCA, was named a 2016 Newman Civic fellow.

Edward Harthorn, senior history major at Williams Baptist College, has been awarded the Northeast Arkansas Regional Archives Award from the Arkansas Historical Association.

Kennedy Sample and Sydney Brazil, both of North Little Rock, were awarded Dot Callanen-Gravett Dance scholarships.

Sameera Ibrahim, of Little Rock, has been awarded the 2016 Critical Language scholarship.

Parker Mullins, of Little Rock, earned a Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association Services scholarship while attending the Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences. He is the son of Robert Mullins of Claremore, Okla., and Virginia Mullins of North Little Rock.

Miranda Anthony, of Fayetteville, earned the Morris D. Covey Memorial scholarship, Arkansas Veterinary Association Auxiliary Award, and an Ambassador Award from The Oklahoma State University for Veterinary Health Sciences. She is the daughter of Candice Carlsen of Springdale.

Victor and Candace "Candy" Williams, of Hot Springs Village, won the April Garden of the Month contest.

Mike Smith, a student at Lyon College, won the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Short Story Contest.

Meredith Ott and Harrison Dawson won the Female and Male Scholar Athletes scholarships from Conway Corp. Both will attend the University of Arkansas.

Hailey Estes won the Ruth Doyle Award scholarship and will attend Henderson State University.

Austin Norris won the Frank E. Robins Award scholarship and will attend the University of Central Arkansas.

Ann Conyers, Arkansas State University-Mountain Home, first place in interviewing.

Caitlyn Sinor, Arkansas State University-Mountain Home, second place in nutrition.

Arkansas Achievers is an opportunity to give recognition to Arkansans for their achievements.

Civilian and military achievements are accepted.
