WALLY HALL: Tunsil family feud seems like a money grab

On the eve of the NFL Draft, perhaps the biggest day in the life of Ole Miss offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, the guy projected to go as high as the No. 3 pick was sued.

By his stepfather.

This is round two of an ongoing problem that began last season when the stepdad, Lindsey Miller, and Tunsil got into an altercation.

The story goes that Miller was having a heated exchange with Tunsil about agents and Tunsil's mother took her son's side.

According to Tunsil, Miller took exception that his wife didn't side with him, so much so that the 6-5, 315-pound Tunsil physically protected his mom.

To put it another way, Tunsil handed out an I love my mama butt-whooping.

They were supposed to have worked things out after the June incident, and charges were dropped by both parties in August. Then suddenly this week, Miller is suing Tunsil, who was a great left tackle for the Rebels and is about to be a millionaire.

Not saying Miller is greedy, but this smells like someone wants a payday.

Tunsil, who was considered the nation's top offensive lineman coming out of Lake City High in Florida, had to sit out a seven-game suspension at Ole Miss after the NCAA found he received extra benefits through the use of loaner cars.

Former Arkansas Razorback tight end/tackle Jason Peters will start his 12th season in the NFL later this year for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Peters lined up at tight end for the Hogs but was primarily an extra offensive tackle. He is tremendously athletic, and he had 25 receptions for 255 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Peters went undrafted and signed with the Buffalo Bills as a tight end but quickly converted to tackle. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl eight times.

For weeks before tonight's NFL Draft, analysts have been posting their mock drafts on the Internet or talking about them on television.

All try to base their guesses on the specific needs of each team. Some of the analysts even list where the team needs the most help.

One guy summed up Cleveland's biggest need as: Any skill position.

And New Orleans as: Defense.

The obvious for everyone was that the Los Angeles Rams, who just went back to L.A. this year, need a quarterback. The Rams gave up everything but Malibu Beach in a trade with Tennessee to get the No. 1 pick.

With the first pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Rams will take a quarterback.

Georgia's spring game offered more than a glimpse into Kirby Smart's first season as the head football coach.

Prior to the game, rapper Ludacris performed.

Hold on Jeff Long. Before running out and getting a musical act for Arkansas' Red-White game next spring, the cost was $65,000 for a 13-minute performance.

If the price seems high, keep in mind it was more of a recruiting ploy. Anything that can interest a five-star athlete is hard to put a price tag on.
